The 2026 Ford Maverick Lobo: The Coolest Truck for the City

The compact street truck is back!  

The 2026 Ford Maverick Lobo is made for the city. Or, around town. No matter where you take it, it is the coolest pickup truck available here in Alabama.

What makes the 2026 Maverick Lobo distinctive is its ride height. In fact, it has a ground clearance of 7.4 inches, an inch lower than most Maverick models. The Lobo’s stance will turn heads and let the onlookers wonder if it was modified or stock.  

There are plenty of distinctive features that separate the 2026 Maverick Lobo from the rest of the crowd. Up front, there is a specific grille texture with a “waterfall effect” down into the sports bumper and lower air dam. The lower parts of the cab and bed receive additional ground effects that manage airflow through the side. The 2026 Maverick Lobo wears a set of 19-inch alloy wheels mounted with low-profile tires. There are two wheel designs to choose from, including the standard “Turbofan” style black painted wheels. This wheel design creates a custom aftermarket vibe to the Lobo’s exterior.  

Inside, the 2026 Maverick Lobo wears ActiveX upholstery in Black Onyx with yellow and blue stitching. The dashboard receives a medium blue hue that makes the sporty interior pop. An eight-inch digital instrument cluster being standard, along with a 13.2-inch center infotainment touchscreen display.

The only driveline available on the 2026 Maverick Lobo is the 250-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. The power does not stop there, as it puts down 275 pound-feet of low-end torque. A seven-speed Quick-Shift automatic transmission is standard, along with all-wheel drive and a torque-vectoring twin-clutch rear differential. 

This sporty compact truck also hauls. It can tow up to 2,000 pounds with a maximum payload rating of 1,045 pounds. Without a trailer hitched to it, the 2026 Maverick Lobo has an expanded set of drive modes, including Lobo mode. This additional drive setting is made for track use – especially if you want to take it up to Barber Motorsports Park for a set of hot laps. To add to the excitement, the 2026 Maverick Lobo rides on a sport-tuned suspension system, enhanced steering and brakes.

In a recent review, MotorTrend called the 2026 Maverick Lobo a city truck. It will look cool in the heart of Montgomery – or any of our small towns across the state.
