​​There is a Hybrid Ford Made Just for You​ 

Did you know that Ford has offered a hybrid driveline in its vehicles since 2005? 

Back then, there was some interest in electrified drivelines that combined an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, deliver lower emissions and improved fuel economy. Ford’s response was the 2005 Escape Hybrid SUV. It also became the first SUV in its class to offer a hybrid powertrain.  

Today, three Ford models offer hybrid drivelines. Along with the 2026 Escape, the 2026 Maverick compact pickup truck and the 2026 F-150 full-size pickup truck also have hybrid drivelines in their lineups.  

The 2026 Escape offers both a series hybrid and a plug-in version. This choice gives you two ways to enjoy lower emissions and improved fuel efficiency.  

Both drivelines start with a 2.5-liter Atkinson Cycle four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. On the 2026 Escape Hybrid, it is rated for192 total system horsepower. In turn, it is also rated to return up to 42 MPG in the city, 36 MPG on the highway, and 39 MPG on a combined loop. The plug-in version is rated for 210 total system horsepower and can deliver 37 miles of electric-only driving. 

The hybrid driveline is available on the 2026 Escape ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum trim levels. The Plug-In Hybrid is available as its own model. 

The 2026 Maverick is powered by its own version of the hybrid driveline,  but bears some similarity to the Escape. Hybrid Maverick models deliver 184 net combined horsepower, while delivering up to 42 MPG in the city, 35 MPG on the highway, and 38 MPG on a combined loop. The hybrid is available on the 2026 Maverick XL, XLT, and Lariat models.  

On the 2026 F-150, the PowerBoost hybrid system starts with an EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 and an electric motor. This produces a net output of 420 horsepower and 578 lb-ft of torque, helping the F-150 achieve up to an EPA-rated 23 MPG in the city, 25 MPG on the highway, and 24 MPG in combined driving.  

With the PowerBoost driveline, you also get the benefit of an available 7.2-kilowatt Pro Power Onboard set of outlets to plug in your tools. You can also tow up to 11,200 pounds. The PowerBoost hybrid driveline is available on the 2026 F-150 STX, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trim levels.
